Protonuraghe Bruncu Madugui
Gesturi
One of the largest protonuraghe (corridor-style nuraghe) in Sardinia is located on the edge of Giara di Gesturi, overlooking the town of Gesturi. The protonuraghe was originally dated back to the Early Bronze Age, but its Middle Bronze Age (15th to 14th century BC) origin is more likely. Remains of the surrounding settlement are of much later date.
The walls consists of large stones, but the masonry is of poor quality. The doorway is orientated to the south, on the right side of the entrance passage there is a niche. Remains of the internal chamber are clearly visible.
